"One of the best vacations ever! My friends and I chartered a catamaran this summer and we were not disappointed! The trip and experiences over exceeded our expectations and our Captain (George) was AMAZING! He listened to what our goals were for the trip and advised on locations and sea conditions to get the most of our journey. Captain George gave us the vacation we wanted and needed!"
Unforgetable time spent with Island Sailing aboard Baccarat
"We spent an unforgettable two weeks at the end of May 2022 aboard the catamaran "Baccarat". Our requirements were specific and demanding - inclusion of a small baby and a three year old toddler in our party as well as the need for us to have been in Santorini for my son’s wedding “come what may” within only 4 days of boarding Baccarat. The weather turned adverse in that winds were either very light forcing us to motor, or so strong as to make putting to sea impossible. Just to add to this we had some fog which prevented the crossing from Ios to Santorini at the last moment. Despite the weather and thanks in no small part to Yacht Sailing's excellent organizational skills and Tassos’s sailing skills we achieved our objective “in spades”. A very big thank you for so many things; You “upgraded” us from Poker Face to Baccarat due to the distances involved and the more powerful motors, an inspired decision, thank you. Yacht Sailing provided us with one of their best skippers (if not the best?), Tassos, who has been an incredible skipper, safety champion and a good friend. He has been relentless in ensuring that all our needs have been safely met as well as selecting the most scenic and iconic islands, villages, restaurants, swimming spots and safe anchorages. Tassos was super concious of the two small kids aboard and went out of his way to ensure their safety. If we were to repeat this sailing trip there is no doubt that we would have as our first and only choice Yacht Sailing and Captain Tassos. We will also be recommending Yacht Sailing to anyone who cares to listen and who would like a top line sailing experience. You have gone way beyond our expectations in order give us a wonderful trip and memories that will last forever. On behalf of all of us, thank you Eugene, all your support staff and Tassos!!!!"
Family Trip of a Lifetime
"Trip of a lifetime! By sailing to the islands- we avoided the crowds and experienced the beautiful local beaches, historic sites and villages. Our captain was the best! He was our captain, tour guide and became a great friend. Yacht Sailing staff were friendly, professional and the boat was perfect. There were 7 of us and plenty of space on the boat to enjoy and relax. Highly recommend this company"
Best sailing experience ever!
"We sailed with Yacht Sailing Greece on Baccarat All we can say is wow! For one week, we were treated to the best of the Cyclades. We went to beaches, on hikes, saw towns, ate amazing food, and had the best hospitality that we could have ever imagined. It was truly amazing and we would recommend to anyone!!"
Perfect trip with amazing accommodation and staff
"Perfect trip with amazing staff! Day after day we arrived in beautiful fun places, they went above and beyond to make us feel relaxed and carefree all week. The food, hospitality, and laidback demeanor was exactly what we needed. Eugene was ultra accommodating in the planning phase of our trip to take a call whenever I had concerns/questions and allowed us to take the boat to start in Syros and debark in Poros making our trip more relaxing to tack on pre/post trip resorts and avoid unnecessary ferries. Will 100% use this group again and would not change a thing. Trip of a lifetime!"
Magical, adventurous week with Captain Giannis and Hostess Anna-Maria!!!
"Captain Giannis & Hostess Anna-Maria took us on the MOST magical and adventurous catamaran trip to the Cycladic islands with our family and friends EVER! We cannot say enough about their superb hospitality and service. We loved the design of the 'Baccarat' catamaran that was immaculate and comfortable and gave plenty of space. Every morning we would sail early to arrive at a new place. A balance mooring at small hidden bays and docking in marinas to enjoy the small villages, very quaint shops with handmade items, gelato, and restaurants. Their recommmendations for restaurants were outstanding and best that they joined us as family, swapping stories about ourselves. Anna Maria was organized and anticipated our hunger and was always ready with a breakfast buffet and hearty lunches of Greek cuisine. Healthy and delicious! Our cabins were tidied every day, and the catamaran was cleaned like a gem, with great care. The islands of Kea, Kythnos, Serifos, Polyaigos, Kymolos, Mylos are a must! We snorkled, paddleboarded, kayaked, and hiked along the jagged cliffs of Kythnos and Polyaigos and found some short climbs above villages and a lighthouse to seek stunning views. Souvlaki picnic amongst the resident goat in a secluded bay was authentic. The most amazing day was our atv tour of Mylos to the white moonscape rocks with cliff jumping and the finale sunset at Papafrigas gorge. Giannis and Anna-Maria offered themselves like a family and engaged our two boys in finding adventure every day. We asked them to join us in sailing Croatia as our guests! Such a trip must continue again."
Calm and beautiful adventure
"I enjoyed most the snorkeling at Nissos Polyaigos at the volcanic rocks, and "Pirate's Cove" with the sea caves, and cliff jumping on Milos Island. Our skipper showed us all the best places and hostess cooked us wonderful meals. We are actually on a 5 week vacation and I believe we will remember our seven days sailing with them as the highlight of our trip!"
Relaxing coastal sailing
"We had an amazing week of sailing with our friends in the Saronic islands. Our captain Gianni and hostess Anna Maria were fantastic and by the end of the trip we had two news friends. Gianni's local knowledge of the ports, restaurants and coves made the trip that much more enjoyable and Anna Marie's menu and presentation was incredible. We all truly appreciated what they did to make our trip as relaxing as possible. The world is a small place, i spent a lot time in this this part of Greece as a child and who knew that our captain and i had a common friend in the area, amazing. We can't wait to do this again and hopefully with our same crew! I highly recommend Eugene and his boutique sailing company!"
Sailing in the Aegean with Yacht Sailing
"We recently sailed for a week around the Cyclades Greek Isles. What an amazing experience! In all respects it was magical! The Aegean showed us its many faces, with the excitement of high seas and days of glassy calm to finish. We swam in clear isolated bays, and visited beautiful Greek seaside towns. I have to thank Giannis and Anna-Maria for making it such an unforgettable experience. Giannis is an experienced skipper, thoroughly professional, but at the same time full of life and fun. He knew every nuance of the islands. On two occasions, through his connections, he had delivered to us items we had left behind, islands later! Anna Maria deserves special mention. She is a lovely soul, calm and serene, preparing delicious food and keeping the yacht clean and tidy - all without fuss or drama. She is also a skilled First Mate to the Skipper, assisting him with docking and other tasks. These two wonderful people made the trip unforgettable. Those who sail with them in the future would be fortunate indeed! All-in-all, the trip was superb, and highly recommended!"
A trip of a lifetime!
"We were able to visit two monasteries, an abandoned prison, and the most beautiful out of the way private beaches! He even shared tidbits of history and mythology with us as we passed special areas! Aileiki, our hostess made us the most amazing food and everything was beautifully plated! Always delicious, nutritious, and in season. We loved getting a glimpse of the Greek culture from her food! She was truly an amazing hostess...her food was some of the best we had during our entire stay in Greece! they seemed more like family at the end of our week on the sea. Thank you Yacht Sailing for the trip of a lifetime!"
Memoirs of Greece for a lifetime
"We can’t say enough about the amazing week we enjoyed touring the Peloponnese on “Baccarat”, a Lagoon 450 catamaran. Our captain tailored our itinerary to include “off the beaten path” destinations that most tourists never see while still visiting many popular sites such as Poros and the theater at Epidavros. Our favorite memory: arriving at a new postcard perfect spot, dropping anchor, our captain announcing “pool is open” and then diving into the crystal clear water of the Aegean Sea."
Catamaran around Greece!
"We had the misfortune of booking during one of the biggest storms Greece has seen in many years. Yiannis and Anna Marie went above and beyond to ensure we were safe while a good time was had by all. Yiannis and Anna’s fun loving nature, tales of sailing, and excellent sense of humor had us laughing and smiling all week! Anna’s traditional Greek meals were to die for. You can’t go wrong with Yacht Sailing and these two!"
Blessed to have a week in Greece with the best captain and hostess.
"We just completed a fantastic week on the Baccarat catamaran. We sailed the Cyclades, visiting the Kithnos, Syros, Andros, and Kea islands. The crew provide it us with ideas to do on the islands and even participated in taking us on a hike and to a cooking class. One night, it was very late, and you could see they were tired, but they wanted to show us a beautiful site at night on the island of Andros, which was our favorite. Our captain was from Andros, so we connected more with the island. By the end of the week, we felt that we now have a family in Greece. We connected with both of them, and besides being fed extremely well and knowing Giannis had the boat under control, they added so much fun to our trip. Giannis and Maria always had the best attitude daily and cared about everyone on our boat. They have such big hearts. From the booking side, Eugene and Maria were great to work with, too. The boat accommodations were great, and even the beds were comfortable. I would highly recommend this company. If you charter a boat, make sure you ask for Giannis and Maria."
The Greek experience.
"The best business trip ever. Team building to the top. Good food, fun, relaxation and building an adjusted program completely to our needs. Baccarat, we will be back!"
Best sailing trip ever!
"Wow, I don’t know where to begin! From the beginning till the end captain treated us as princesses on the Baccarat! He was not only our skipper but also our guide, he plannend all our diners at the best restaurants and we had so much fun together!! He took us to so many beautiful places and we swam in the bluest water. We had an amazing week and could not have wished for a better skipper! Thank you for making us feel safe and at home on the boat. We will remember this week forever!!"
Amazing trip aboard the Baccarat!
"Our trip was excellent, the places we saw were breath taking! Our captain was very informative on the history, and knew the best spots to take us for the views! He was more than just our captain, he was a tour guide, cook and we never would have seen as much without him."
Eudaimonia
"Amazing trip!! This was truly a transformational experience for my daughters and me. We explored the Saronic Islands (Poros, Hydra, Spetses, Dhokos, and parts of mainland Greece) and the places, history, culture, food, and people were amazing. Our captain Konstantinos was phenomenal; he planned the route, communicated well, gave great recommendations, and he took care of just about every detail. Our hostess Olga prepared us delicious, healthy and authentic Greek cuisines. Both captain and hostess blended seamlessly with us took great pride in giving us a unique and exceptional experience. They exceeded our high expectations. Most days had a similar structure - we left port in the morning, anchored at a beautiful location for a delicious breakfast / swim / snorkel, then headed to our next destination port for a delicious lunch before we explored that particular island. Since the Saronic Islands are close to one another, the travel time between stops was minimal and relaxing. Thank you Yacht Sailing, Captain Konstantinos, and Hostess Olga. Efkareestoh!"
YachtSailing-Great Company-Great Times-We Love Our Captain
"We had an amazing time on the Baccarat with Konstantinos Babilis as our captain. The yacht was spacious and comfortable for our group of 8. Konstantinos was the best! He arranged tours and gave advice on the best restaurants to go to on the islands. He made sure we were comfortable and happy with our itinerary. We didn’t have a hostess, which we would reconsider next time, but Konstantinos went above and beyond his captain duties and helped us fill in the gaps to ensure our first sailing trip was perfect. We left the week feeling he was a friend that we have known for many years! It was so great sailing with Konstantinos. We sailed the Cyclades visiting Kythnos, Paros, Sifnos, Serifos and Kea. Along the way we stopped and anchored in coves to swim and eat lunch (on the yacht). The islands were beautiful and the food was great! Before we went on the trip, Eugene and everyone we communicated with in the YachtSailing offices were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions/concerns we might have. There were no surprises in terms of cost and they were very informative as to what to expect. The web site is helpful to review when planning the trip. This was a bucket list trip and it did not disappoint! The trip to Greece was outstanding while YachtSailing and our Captain made it amazing. Highly recommend YachtSailing with Konstantinos as your Captain. We look forward to the chance of yet another bucket list trip with YachtSailing in the future!"
Cat sailing at its best!
"Our Skipper, Konstantinos and our hostess, Irini were the BEST! We sailed the Sardonic and saw the most amazing and beautiful towns, ate delicious food, paddle boarded, snorkeled and swam in beautiful coves. The sunset at Hydra was remarkable and the towns of Spetses and Poros is also a must see! Our Skipper made sure we had everything we needed, and was lighthearted and fun the whole time. We enjoyed his many stories and especially his laugh! The food on the boat for breakfast and lunch was the best! Better than any food we had in any restaurant. Irene was amazing and even made special drinks for the kids! She was sweet and kind and always made sure we had everything we wanted. I highly recommend yacht sailing and especially this amazing crew!"
First Yacht Sailing, but not the last!
"Yacht - BACCARAT 'BACCARAT' - Lagoon 450 to sail in Greece https://yachtsailing.com/yachts/baccarat-lagoon-450/ Captain - Konstantinos Chef - Nefili Sail Date - 6/9 - 13/9/2025 Guests - Two couples This year we decided to celebrate my wife's birthday with a very special vacation. Sailing in Greece was on our "Bucket List" for a longtime. We heard about Yachtsailing through reviews and friends. Yachtsailing did not disappoint. From the first phone introduction to the final trip details they were outstanding. They organized everything, transportation to/from the airport, boat provisioning, aquatic gear, etc. There is no doubt we will be doing sailing with them again. Who really made this trip above and beyond my expectations were Chef Nefili (Nef) and Captain Konstantinos! They very friendly, attentive, and professional. Chef Nef is amazing! She prepared delicious gourmet breakfasts and lunches. (We had dinner at port restaurants.) Of course we requested greek cuisine in our preference list. (We submitted our detailed preference list ~2 weeks prior. Tip; The more details the better.) Chef Nef varied the menu for each meal. From appetizer to dessert, she amazed us each day. It was a fun learning experience watching her prepare our meals. Nef is very intuitive and attentive. She seemed to know what we wanted before we asked. We will definitely ask for Chef Nef on our next trip. Captain Konstantinos is a very personable skilled Captain, and has many years of sailing experience. He is extremely knowledgeable about the sea and the ports we visited. He recommended and arranged all our restaurant reservations. Our dinners were at great restaurants and we had the best views. Captain Konstantinos would stop by the restaurant and helped us with the menu and wine list. We were not expecting HD pictures/videos of our trip from the captain's drone. Other "above and beyond" moments...For my wife's birthday, Nef prepared a fantastic lunch. We all sang "Happy Birthday" and they gave…"
Celebration of life
"Upon arriving to Greece and having little expectations, as we left it up to our fabulous captain (Konstantinos) and talented hostess/chef (Maria). They created a wonderful experience for us with memories that will last a lifetime. They handled all of our accommodations and reservations to local restaurants, which is what we wanted, to experience while we were here in Greece."
Baccarat, week trip Oct 2025
"We cannot thank you enough for the unforgettable week we spent cruising through the Saronic Islands. From the moment we stepped aboard, your warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease and incredibly spoiled. Captain Konstantinos, your expert navigation and choice of breathtaking islands and hidden coves gave us experiences we’ll treasure forever. And Maria, your delicious meals and thoughtful hospitality made every moment onboard feel like a dream. You both went above and beyond—organizing perfect dinner reservations, creating magical swim stops, and making sure every day was filled with joy and wonder. This trip has truly set the bar for all future adventures, and we feel so lucky to have shared it with you. We LOVE you both and will carry these memories with us always. ❤️❤️ MacNabbs and Shermans"

We try to build the route around two main principles. The first is the profile of your group: how many hours you would like to sail each day, whether you are travelling with children, whether there are particular islands you definitely want to see, and what you generally enjoy doing - sightseeing, history, local life, swimming, snorkeling or simply spending time on the water. The second is the weather at the time of your arrival. These two things need to work together in order to create a trip that feels pleasant and relaxed rather than adventurous for the wrong reasons. Distance also comes into the equation. A successful week needs to strike a balance between many different things, not just sailing. You want time to enjoy the food, explore the islands, meet the locals, discover some history, read a book, paddleboard, snorkel, swim - or simply do absolutely nothing. All of this needs to find its place within the week. That also means having realistic expectations about how far you plan to go. We don't consider sailing endlessly just to reach another island part of the fun. Spending more hours at sea simply to tick destinations off a list can easily take away from everything else the trip has to offer. Last but not least, the yacht itself plays a role. A longer hull can generally achieve higher cruising speeds and cover distances more efficiently. Larger catamarans also place you higher above the waterline, offer more space and comfort, and can generally handle more demanding sea conditions with greater ease. So, beyond the accommodation and layout, the yacht you choose can also influence what makes sense for your itinerary. All in all, there are several things to consider when planning the week. Your group sets the priorities, your yacht helps define what is comfortable and realistic, and the weather always has the final say.
All our trips are fully customizable. There is no fixed itinerary. The final route is shaped together with you, based on your preferences (how many hours you wish to sail per day, whether you prefer sightseeing or relaxation, interest in hiking, swimming, local cuisine, etc.) and - most importantly - the weather conditions at the time of your trip. We do not pre-impose routes, nor do we force sailing long distances if conditions are unpleasant. The captain adjusts the plan daily to ensure the experience remains relaxed, safe, and enjoyable. You may also change plans during the trip and stay longer at places you enjoy.
In order to plan an accurate budget, you should consider the following costs in addition to the yacht price with crew. The figures below are based on averages we have seen from similar groups on previous charters and are intended as a realistic guide rather than fixed costs. Actual expenses will vary depending on your yacht, itinerary, preferences and the time of year you travel. * Fuel: Fuel consumption depends on the yacht, cruising distance, weather conditions and time of year. As a general guide, expect approximately 300-1000 liters, with a total cost in the region of €500-€1,900 for the week. You will receive the yacht with a full tank and refill it upon return. * End cleaning: €300, covering the preparation of the yacht, including cleaning, one set of bed linen, towels and tea towels, as well as the dinghy, outboard engine and gas bottles. * Port fees: Generally minimal, typically around €20-€50 per night, depending on the port or marina. * Crew provisioning: Approximately €25-€30 per crew member, per day for the crew's meals. * Guest provisioning: This depends entirely on your preferences and the food, beverages and alcohol you would like onboard. Your cook will organize the shopping according to your preferences so everything is ready for your arrival. All costs shown are for the entire group, not per person. Adding an additional guest after booking, provided the yacht's layout and permitted capacity allow it, does not change the weekly yacht price.
Meals are an important part of life onboard and are based around fresh, Greek and Mediterranean flavors, adapted to your group's preferences and dietary requirements. With our standard two-person crew setup (Captain and Cook/Host), the natural rhythm is breakfast followed by a substantial lunch or late lunch onboard, while evenings are a wonderful opportunity to step ashore and discover local restaurants and tavernas. One or two dinners onboard can also be arranged. On yachts operating with a three-person crew, the dining experience can be more extensive.
There really is no fixed schedule - and that is part of the experience. You may wake up in a quiet bay, have breakfast onboard and sail in the morning before stopping somewhere beautiful for swimming, paddleboarding or snorkeling. Lunch is often enjoyed onboard, followed by another short sail or time at anchor before arriving at an island later in the day. Evenings can be spent exploring ashore, having dinner in a local restaurant or simply enjoying the yacht. Some days involve more sailing, others almost none. The rhythm develops naturally around the weather, the route and what your group feels like doing.
Absolutely, but choosing the right itinerary is important. Catamarans provide generous space and a stable platform at anchor, although any yacht will move when sailing in open water. For families, younger children or guests who are particularly sensitive to motion, the Saronic Gulf is often an excellent choice because distances are shorter and the waters are generally more protected. Your captain can also adapt the route according to the conditions and your group. Children are welcome onboard and remain under their parents' supervision throughout the charter. Weather is always monitored closely, and itineraries are adapted to avoid unpleasant conditions. The objective is comfort and enjoyment, not endurance sailing.
Our charters operate on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis. On embarkation Saturday, yachts are typically ready from around 14:00 at our base in Alimos Marina, Athens. You are welcome to arrive at that time, board the yacht, and settle into your cabins. Your cook will have already arranged and purchased everything required for your meals, based on the preferences you have shared with us in advance. Everything will be onboard and ready for your arrival, so there is nothing else you need to organize. Once onboard: * The captain will welcome you and introduce the yacht. * A full safety briefing will take place. * You will discuss your preferences and possible routes based on the weather forecast. After these formalities, the trip begins immediately. Depending on your plans and weather conditions, you will usually sail for a few hours and enjoy your first swim or anchorage that very same day. On disembarkation, the yacht returns to the marina on Friday evening. You overnight onboard, and disembarkation takes place by 09:00 on Saturday morning. This timing allows the crew to properly clean, service and prepare the yacht for the next guests according to our standards.
Santorini is not realistically suited to a one-week charter from Athens. The distance requires more than long hours at sea and will quickly turn a sailing holiday into a trip focused simply on reaching one destination. This is not the nature of our trips. If Santorini is important to you, we strongly recommend spending two nights there before or after your charter. Flights from Athens take around 30-45 minutes and can often be found in the region of €80-€120, depending on dates and availability. And there is another reason we recommend experiencing Santorini this way: the real magic of Santorini is on the island, not around it. Its dramatic cliffs, villages, caldera views and sunsets are what make it exceptional. The surrounding waters are very deep, with steep and rocky coastlines, so it offers a very different experience from the bays, beaches and swimming stops that make a week by yacht so special. Our advice is simple: Santorini is absolutely worth visiting - but visit it by plane, and save your sailing week for the islands best experienced from the water. If you are chartering for two weeks, the picture changes completely. Santorini can then become part of a broader Cyclades itinerary without forcing the entire trip to revolve around getting there.
Some islands can be combined within a week; others cannot - at least not without sacrificing comfort. Mykonos and Paros are feasible from Athens within a week under favorable conditions. Santorini, Patmos, Anafi, and other southern or eastern islands are located over 180 nautical miles away and are not realistically reachable within a one-week sailing vacation without excessive daily sailing hours. For these distant islands, we strongly recommend visiting them by ferry or plane before or after your sailing trip. The true experience of a sailing vacation lies in balance, not in covering maximum miles.
Trips are weather-dependent, but this does not mean they are canceled. If strong winds or unfavorable conditions arise, the itinerary is adjusted to more protected areas. To date, we have not lost a single trip due to weather. Greece offers many alternative routes that remain beautiful and enjoyable even when conditions in one region are not ideal. Flexibility is essential and a key for a successful trip along with an elevated experience.
