Unforgettable Experience

"A vacation you will never forget! Dimitri and Anna Maria were exceptional. Dimitri's experience about each island we stopped at provided us with a feel if true Greece. He provided us with the best restaurants recommendations. Anna Maria's culinary flare was beyond our expectations. She accommodate dietary restrictions with ease. Each lunch she prepared was world class and a true treat."

Absolutely amazing!!

"I went on a week long sailing trip through yachtsailig.gr and it was absolutely amazing! There were 9 of us on the boat and it was perfect. The captain did a great job and got us to all of the sights we wanted to see, and had great food recommendations at every stop. The crew on board was so worth it! Coordinating the shopping and cooking for all of us would have really taken away from the experience, so having take care of it just made the trip so relaxing. I would definitely book with them again."

Best Time Thanks To Dimitrius And Anna Maria

"We just returned from a week of sailing the Saronic gulf on the Queen of Diamonds. We had the best time thanks to Captain Dimitrius and Chef Anna Maria. Dimitrius was a wonderful captain and took us to some beautiful swimming spots. Anna Maria cooked us the most delicious meals. They were both very accommodating and made our trip so easy."

Unforgettable Trip to the Cyclades Islands

"**An Unforgettable Sailing Adventure in the Cyclades** We had the pleasure of spending a week aboard the Queen of Diamonds in September, and it was an unforgettable experience. The boat was in excellent condition, spacious enough to comfortably accommodate four couples. We sailed through the stunning islands of the Cyclades, each one offering its own unique beauty. Our captain, Demetris, was not only highly skilled but also had invaluable local knowledge. His recommendations for restaurants and sights were spot on, making our trip even more enjoyable. Anna Marie, our hostess, was an absolute delight. Her cooking was fantastic, and she added so much joy to our days on board. The Cyclades themselves are beyond beautiful—unlike anything we've ever seen. The crystal-clear waters, the incredible food, and the breathtaking scenery made it hard to leave. We were so thrilled with the experience that we've already booked a 3-week trip for next year. Highly recommend!"

I have been to Greece several times before but never experienced anything quite like this - spending an week+ aboard the Queen of Diamonds is by far the BEST way to experience the Greek islands!! The luminescent waters in the remote coves were stunning, and the cuisine was out of this world! I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed the expertise of the yachtsailing.gr team, especially Captain D & Anna-Maria! I would book this trip again in a heartbeat. Trip of a Lifetime!

"We spent a week aboard the Queen of Diamonds with Dimitris as our captain and Nef as first mate and chef extraordinaire. There were 5 adult couples in our group and we can all easily say that this was the trip of a lifetime. Dimitris always had a well thought out itinerary, complete with the most beautiful beaches and hidden coves, perfect little towns, and adventures including ATVs and transportation to the dreamiest restaurants the islands had to offer. Meanwhile, Nef kept us well fed with her delicious meals aboard and greeted us each day with smiles, coffee, and lots of laughs. The hardest part of the trip was saying goodbye to Greece and our new friends, as we could not have asked for better hosts. If you’re considering booking, don’t think twice…you will not regret it!"

Beautiful, beautiful beautiful ❤️

"We had an incredible week away with our family and family friends on the Queen of Diamonds. It is such a beautiful catamaran and loved every second we were onboard. Dimitris was a great Captain and took as too some beautiful private coves which we absolutely adored. Nothing better than jumping off the boat into the crystal clear waters in a secluded area. Nef provided us with the most delicious food every day it was so hard to leave her. We are definitely missing our morning coffee she would great us with in the front of the catamaran while we looked at the beautiful waters. They put together an incredible traditional Greek night for us all on our last night. This was an experience we will never forget and be forever grateful for."

Best vacation ever…how will any trip ever compare.

"We spent a week on the Queen of Diamonds with friends and family. It was an experience of a lifetime. Or captain Dimitris sailed us to the most beautiful spots for swimming and each port we docked in had beautiful shops and restaurants and we were treated like kings and queens. Our hostess Elisabeth was truly a Gem. I have a new found love for Mediterranean cuisine. We looked forward to her meals each day which in my opinion were better than any meal we had on the islands. Both Dimitris and Elizabeth truly made our experience what is was…and our now part of our family. A vacation we will never forget and will be talked about for many many years."

WOW! Have been wanting to make this trip for 6 years. It lived up to my expectations!

"Wow! Just came back from a week on The Queen of Diamonds with Dimitri as our captain and Anna Maria as hostess. Dimitri created an enjoyable itinerary where we could enjoy the beauty and culture of Greece. He and Anna Maria were truly passionate about making this trip a wonderful experience. Anna Maria is a wonderful cook. The food on the boat was far better than what we had on land. (Dimitri made restaurant recommendations and the restaurants were delicious... Anna Maria's food was just that much better.) She cooked using recipes from her mother and grandmother. The food was fresh and flavorful. I have to say that yachtsailing.gr's website was full of information which was helpful in preparing to sail. It also was spot on. I found that our expectations were met and then exceeded. I felt that I knew what was going to happen, (to trust Dimitri to plan our itinerary based on current weather conditions and to know where we could go to enjoy our trip and stay safe.) We enjoyed exploring our destinations. Dimitri helped us with bike rentals and other excursions. He also found protected coves to stop and enjoy the water and have lunch. It was wonderful! Also, everyone I interacted with at yachtsailing were profession, kind and helpful. I knew that we were in good hands and the whole team was working to make the trip a success."

Epic Sailing on Queen of Diamonds with Demetres and Ana Maria!

"We had an epic adventure as a family with our four children (ages 14/14/13/11) and Aunt with Captain Demetres and Hostess Ana Maria aboard the Queen of Diamonds Catamaran. Every step of the way the service was 5 star from amazing communication and full transparency with cost as we started the planning to the follow through and experience provided by the crew. The value for what you get is incredible! We chose to sail to Saronic islands of Greece to minimize travel time and take advantage of calmer waters since this was our first charter and adventure for a week on the water. While the water 💦 was a bit more chilly in May, we still took advantage as it felt great especially with the sun ☀️ being out! The kids loved the paddle boats and our captain even brought out a sea scooter which was fun! The temperatures were amazing for hiking to a suggested monastery on the island of Hydra to renting electric bikes per recommendation from our crew to go around the island of Spetses. We got to see wild peacocks 🦚 roaming an island, explore caves on uninhabited islands to tasting the best pistachio’s, olive 🫒 products and almonds.. and eating the most AMAZING local Greek food with fresh caught fish.. we can’t wait to return for more adventures with Demetres and Anna Maria. They are the best guides and crew imaginable! Such authentic, kind and thoughtful people… they blended right into making our family feel comfortable and special. The meals Anna Maria presented for breakfast and lunch not only were delicious, but were also presented incredibly well! We travel yearly with our four kids somewhere internationally and this by far was one of the best and most memorable trips having the perfect balance of rest and adventure to get away from all the noise in life and connect with one another in a special way. Would and hope to do it again but maybe 2 weeks next time to explore the Cyclades Islands!"

An amazing journey

"First of all, Demetrius and Anna Maria were wonderful hosts that quickly felt like family. Both went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. From the amazing breakfasts, the thoughtful suggestions for day trips, the excitement they shared with us, the sunsets, the food (wow did I mention the food, thank you Anna Maria). Everything these two recommended was top notch. Water activities, town activies, all were on point. Hydra was easily my favorite island and something no one should miss. E-biking on Spetses. A MUST for anyone visiting is Andreou Winery in Portos -- amazing, good food, wonderful hospitality, big hearts. And even after our trip was done, Demitrius helped us to book a trip to Meteora. Above and beyond. I can say that I miss the Queen of Diamonds already. I miss our company and I'm very greatful for the care and attention that Demitrius and Anna Maria gave us."

Queen Of Diamonds- INCREDIBLE, one of a kind trip

"Dimitris and Anna-Maria were the best hosts for our week sailing the Saronic Islands (Aegina, Hydra, Spetses, and Poros)! From the start, Dimitris and Anna-Maria made us feel welcomed- especially since we had an early arrival. As our captain, Dimitris really took the time to make sure that the trip was what we wanted (a bit of adventure with leisure). Along the way we spotted dolphins in the distance, and he immediately turned the boat around to make sure that we could see them up close! It was incredible! Both Dimitris and Anna-Maria had great advice on places to eat, things to do, and always made sure that we got the best sunset views (Hydranetta bar in Spetses, top of the clocktower in Poros). Dimitris had the best hookups at all of the restaurants, and always made sure to get us the best table in the restaurant! Anna-Maria made us the most incredible meals, all of the dishes felt authentically Greek (which is what we wanted) and clearly were made with love. We want those recipes!!! We could not have asked for a better crew! They were the perfect combination of professional, fun, inviting, and had a sense of calm, which is exactly what our group needed for a relaxing (and fun) week in the Greek Islands. I would book the Queen of Diamonds again, especially with Dimitris and Anna-Maria as our crew! Thank you for creating the best week of our lives!"

Queen of Diamonds - June 2025 Unforgettable Trip!

"My husband and I have just returned from an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime trip on the Queen of Diamonds where we travelled to the Saronic Islands of Greece. We travelled with 6 of our great friends, when we first booked our trip we had no idea how spectacular it was going to be and ended up far exceeding our expectations. From the moment we set sail, it was amazing. We had the best of the best in Captain Dimitris and Hostess and Chef, Anna Maria. Their passion for Greek hospitality and personalized service was nothing short of extraordinary. They tailored each day’s itinerary to suit our group’s individual interests, finding the perfect balance of adventure, relaxation, and local experiences. Every day brought a new discovery—from secluded coves with the bluest waters we’ve ever seen and perfect for swimming, to charming island villages rich with history and authenticity. One of the most memorable experiences was our visit to a family-owned honey and olive oil farm on the island of Ermioni. Greeted with genuine warmth from the family, they provided us a tour and history of the family and ended our visit with the family providing us homemade bread and herbal teas—a moment of true authenticity. Another unforgettable highlight was on the island of Poros, where we were welcomed into a local family winery. There, we indulged in a wine tasting, each glass paired with lovingly prepared dishes straight from the family's kitchen. The evening culminated in a joyous session of traditional Greek dancing, taught to us by the family themselves—a magical connection we will cherish forever. Back aboard the Queen of Diamonds, our culinary journey continued. Anna Maria is not just a hostess, but an exceptional chef whose cooking reflects the heart and soul of Greece. Every meal was a celebration—crafted from time-honored family recipes and prepared with deep love and care. We truly cannot say enough about this extraordinary experience. A Perfect Greek Island Sailing Adventure aboard the Queen of Diamonds

"We just returned from a 7-day sailing adventure aboard the Queen of Diamonds, a beautifully maintained 52-foot Lagoon catamaran, with Captain Dimitris and Anna Marie, exploring the stunning Saronic Islands of Greece—and what an incredible experience it was! Our trip kicked off with some excitement: thunderstorms and gale-force winds on day one. But at no point did we feel unsafe. Captain Dimitris was calm, confident, and clearly in control of the vessel. Throughout the week, he worked closely with us to tailor the itinerary based on weather conditions and our preference for smaller, less-crowded islands. Every morning, right after breakfast, he would pull out a chart and give us a daily briefing, presenting us with options for where to sail and what to do next. The Queen of Diamonds (a Lagoon 52) deserves special mention. The boat was spacious, clean, and exceptionally well-maintained. There was plenty of room both inside and out—whether relaxing on the flybridge, sunbathing on the forward deck, or enjoying meals in the shaded outdoor dining area. The cabins were comfortable with plenty of storage and private bathrooms, and the boat’s stability made for smooth sailing even in choppy seas. Each day, Dimitris brought us to amazing secluded coves—perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and exploring. Whether it was a quiet beach with crystal-clear water or a scenic spot accessible only by boat, every stop felt like a hidden gem. What really stood out was how personalized everything felt. Whether it was e-biking, wine tasting, or visiting an active olive and honey farm, Dimitris made sure every day offered something memorable and at our own pace. And then there’s Anna Maria, who was simply outstanding. She prepared all of our meals, with delicious breakfasts and lunches each day. Every dish was a highlight, but the standout was her stuffed pork roast on day one—honestly, the best we’ve ever had! Beyond her culinary talent, Anna Maria was also an excellent hand on the boat,…"

Good to know

How do you plan the itinerary?

We try to build the route around two main principles. The first is the profile of your group: how many hours you would like to sail each day, whether you are travelling with children, whether there are particular islands you definitely want to see, and what you generally enjoy doing - sightseeing, history, local life, swimming, snorkeling or simply spending time on the water. The second is the weather at the time of your arrival. These two things need to work together in order to create a trip that feels pleasant and relaxed rather than adventurous for the wrong reasons. Distance also comes into the equation. A successful week needs to strike a balance between many different things, not just sailing. You want time to enjoy the food, explore the islands, meet the locals, discover some history, read a book, paddleboard, snorkel, swim - or simply do absolutely nothing. All of this needs to find its place within the week. That also means having realistic expectations about how far you plan to go. We don't consider sailing endlessly just to reach another island part of the fun. Spending more hours at sea simply to tick destinations off a list can easily take away from everything else the trip has to offer. Last but not least, the yacht itself plays a role. A longer hull can generally achieve higher cruising speeds and cover distances more efficiently. Larger catamarans also place you higher above the waterline, offer more space and comfort, and can generally handle more demanding sea conditions with greater ease. So, beyond the accommodation and layout, the yacht you choose can also influence what makes sense for your itinerary. All in all, there are several things to consider when planning the week. Your group sets the priorities, your yacht helps define what is comfortable and realistic, and the weather always has the final say.

Is the itinerary fixed, or can we customize our route?

All our trips are fully customizable. There is no fixed itinerary. The final route is shaped together with you, based on your preferences (how many hours you wish to sail per day, whether you prefer sightseeing or relaxation, interest in hiking, swimming, local cuisine, etc.) and - most importantly - the weather conditions at the time of your trip. We do not pre-impose routes, nor do we force sailing long distances if conditions are unpleasant. The captain adjusts the plan daily to ensure the experience remains relaxed, safe, and enjoyable. You may also change plans during the trip and stay longer at places you enjoy.

What is included in the charter price, and what should we budget for separately?

In order to plan an accurate budget, you should consider the following costs in addition to the yacht price with crew. The figures below are based on averages we have seen from similar groups on previous charters and are intended as a realistic guide rather than fixed costs. Actual expenses will vary depending on your yacht, itinerary, preferences and the time of year you travel. * Fuel: Fuel consumption depends on the yacht, cruising distance, weather conditions and time of year. As a general guide, expect approximately 300-1000 liters, with a total cost in the region of €500-€1,900 for the week. You will receive the yacht with a full tank and refill it upon return. * End cleaning: €300, covering the preparation of the yacht, including cleaning, one set of bed linen, towels and tea towels, as well as the dinghy, outboard engine and gas bottles. * Port fees: Generally minimal, typically around €20-€50 per night, depending on the port or marina. * Crew provisioning: Approximately €25-€30 per crew member, per day for the crew's meals. * Guest provisioning: This depends entirely on your preferences and the food, beverages and alcohol you would like onboard. Your cook will organize the shopping according to your preferences so everything is ready for your arrival. All costs shown are for the entire group, not per person. Adding an additional guest after booking, provided the yacht's layout and permitted capacity allow it, does not change the weekly yacht price.

What can we expect from meals onboard?

Meals are an important part of life onboard and are based around fresh, Greek and Mediterranean flavors, adapted to your group's preferences and dietary requirements. With our standard two-person crew setup (Captain and Cook/Host), the natural rhythm is breakfast followed by a substantial lunch or late lunch onboard, while evenings are a wonderful opportunity to step ashore and discover local restaurants and tavernas. One or two dinners onboard can also be arranged. On yachts operating with a three-person crew, the dining experience can be more extensive.

What is a typical day onboard like?

There really is no fixed schedule - and that is part of the experience. You may wake up in a quiet bay, have breakfast onboard and sail in the morning before stopping somewhere beautiful for swimming, paddleboarding or snorkeling. Lunch is often enjoyed onboard, followed by another short sail or time at anchor before arriving at an island later in the day. Evenings can be spent exploring ashore, having dinner in a local restaurant or simply enjoying the yacht. Some days involve more sailing, others almost none. The rhythm develops naturally around the weather, the route and what your group feels like doing.

Is a yacht charter suitable for families or guests who are concerned about seasickness?

Absolutely, but choosing the right itinerary is important. Catamarans provide generous space and a stable platform at anchor, although any yacht will move when sailing in open water. For families, younger children or guests who are particularly sensitive to motion, the Saronic Gulf is often an excellent choice because distances are shorter and the waters are generally more protected. Your captain can also adapt the route according to the conditions and your group. Children are welcome onboard and remain under their parents' supervision throughout the charter. Weather is always monitored closely, and itineraries are adapted to avoid unpleasant conditions. The objective is comfort and enjoyment, not endurance sailing.

How do embarkation and disembarkation work?

Our charters operate on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis. On embarkation Saturday, yachts are typically ready from around 14:00 at our base in Alimos Marina, Athens. You are welcome to arrive at that time, board the yacht, and settle into your cabins. Your cook will have already arranged and purchased everything required for your meals, based on the preferences you have shared with us in advance. Everything will be onboard and ready for your arrival, so there is nothing else you need to organize. Once onboard: * The captain will welcome you and introduce the yacht. * A full safety briefing will take place. * You will discuss your preferences and possible routes based on the weather forecast. After these formalities, the trip begins immediately. Depending on your plans and weather conditions, you will usually sail for a few hours and enjoy your first swim or anchorage that very same day. On disembarkation, the yacht returns to the marina on Friday evening. You overnight onboard, and disembarkation takes place by 09:00 on Saturday morning. This timing allows the crew to properly clean, service and prepare the yacht for the next guests according to our standards.

Can we visit Santorini during a one-week charter from Athens?

Santorini is not realistically suited to a one-week charter from Athens. The distance requires more than long hours at sea and will quickly turn a sailing holiday into a trip focused simply on reaching one destination. This is not the nature of our trips. If Santorini is important to you, we strongly recommend spending two nights there before or after your charter. Flights from Athens take around 30-45 minutes and can often be found in the region of €80-€120, depending on dates and availability. And there is another reason we recommend experiencing Santorini this way: the real magic of Santorini is on the island, not around it. Its dramatic cliffs, villages, caldera views and sunsets are what make it exceptional. The surrounding waters are very deep, with steep and rocky coastlines, so it offers a very different experience from the bays, beaches and swimming stops that make a week by yacht so special. Our advice is simple: Santorini is absolutely worth visiting - but visit it by plane, and save your sailing week for the islands best experienced from the water. If you are chartering for two weeks, the picture changes completely. Santorini can then become part of a broader Cyclades itinerary without forcing the entire trip to revolve around getting there.

Can we visit Mykonos, Naxos and other Cycladic islands in one week?

Some islands can be combined within a week; others cannot - at least not without sacrificing comfort. Mykonos and Paros are feasible from Athens within a week under favorable conditions. Santorini, Patmos, Anafi, and other southern or eastern islands are located over 180 nautical miles away and are not realistically reachable within a one-week sailing vacation without excessive daily sailing hours. For these distant islands, we strongly recommend visiting them by ferry or plane before or after your sailing trip. The true experience of a sailing vacation lies in balance, not in covering maximum miles.

What happens if the weather is bad? Will the trip be canceled?

Trips are weather-dependent, but this does not mean they are canceled. If strong winds or unfavorable conditions arise, the itinerary is adjusted to more protected areas. To date, we have not lost a single trip due to weather. Greece offers many alternative routes that remain beautiful and enjoyable even when conditions in one region are not ideal. Flexibility is essential and a key for a successful trip along with an elevated experience.
