So good! So good! So good!

Best vacation of our lives!

"I’m not sure where to start but not only was this the best vacation our group has experienced, it was possibly the best week of our lives. We all agreed that the only thing that could make the trip better is an additional week! The boat (Royal Flush) is a masterpiece in itself—immaculate and spacious, high-tech and (extremely) well equipped. I can’t imagine there’s a better boat out there. The crew, really our friends now, Morphi and Dimitris, are Greek angels we’re sure—absolute saints those two! Every moment getting to spend time with their bright and beautiful personalities was a treat. Morphi’s food made us positively emotional and every dish was better than the best meal in a restaurant (which were still epic meals of course). She fed us well and often and perfectly timed, always with a smile and warmth. She knew who enjoyed what coffee and each persons personal wine happy hour preferences. She always had a story to tell and radiant energy, and we miss her smile dearly. Dimitris was a mind reader with planning our itineraries and every excursion he arranged was perfectly paired with the groups energy level and personality. You like wine? He knows the perfect wineries on each island. You like sights & adventure? Here are 4 ATVs waiting for you to cruise Spetses at your leisure. Oh you like to swim, yeah? Here are four of the most beautiful turquoise coves you can dive into. He’s just a cool guy, absolutely interesting and full of knowledge. Also, when it comes to navigating a large boat with charisma and confidence, I doubt anyone can do it better. Even when novice captains around us would mess up our anchor or docking, he didn’t sweat it and was a pro. Smooth sailing to the maximum! Eugene, Joanna, and both Marias were kind and patient to work with. Planning every detail and giving surprisingly prompt responses (I’m wondering when they sleep). Everyone has questions, I’m sure, and I had plenty, always answered by them with grace. The Saronic Islands are not to…"

Amazing Holiday

"I cannot say enough about our experience! We were a blended group of friends/family, 6 adults and 4 kids. We sailed mid-June and the weather was perfect! Truly one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we have been on in a long time. Our skipper, Dimitris and our host, Aliki were both wonderful and easy going. Dimitris knew all the best places to take us and Aliki made some of the best food we have ever eaten. I should have stood in the kitchen and watched her every day. You definitely won’t be disappointed if you book this trip and will be immediately planning how to go again!"

Absolute BEST Way to Visit Greece!!

"!If you’re seeking a memory of a lifetime, action-packed adventure — while also feeling incredibly chill and relaxed — look no further! yachtsailing.gr and especially Captain Dimitris Dalakos will create an amazing customized vacation experience you and your family will never forget. Our goal was to create family memories that would last a lifetime. It was quite simply one of the most unique experiences my family has ever shared. We enjoyed the most beautiful and unique islands, activities, delicious food and wine we’ve ever encountered! My absolute favorite was the day we dropped anchor at Kleftiko Beach on Milos island. It was absolutely incredible!!! We arrived with little expectation as to the islands we’d visit or the adventures we’d experience. We left the planning of our adventure up to Dimitris who had been sailing the Greek islands since he was a young boy. This was a fantastic decision. We visited Paros, Milos, Serifos (another TOP favorite due to its ultra chill vibe and absolute beauty), Hydra (super cool architecture, shopping and no cars allowed - donkeys only), anchored next to a nearly deserted island with about 5 homes on it where we hiked and had an chance to pet a few friendly wild horses. In each location, Dimitris briefed us on the top things to see and do on the island. When we disembarked to explore the islands, it was reassuring to observe the way the locals greeted Dimitris with big smiles. They clearly respected him and loved him. His expert knowledge, extraordinary hospitality, and genuinely warm, fun, and engaging personality made for such an amazing adventure. Dimitris was much more than just a captain. He safely navigated our catamaran through the Cyclades. He was an amazing English-speaking host, social director and travel guide showing us great restaurants, local taverns and must see “off the beaten path” locations away from the tourist traps. He guided us to some of the most gorgeous spots we’d ever experienced including Kleftiko…"

EPIC

"Barbie chose the perfect words "epic trip". Epic is an understatement and everything Barbie said is true. On land, one might think Dimitris was a celebrity. Everyone knew him and he knew everyone. Dimiris arranged for reservations on the islands that were otherwise impossible to get. Speaking of food, I'm not sure I will ever eat moussaka again after eating Aliki's. It was the best I ever had. Also a big thanks to the crew at the Marina. Thank you Alex for making sure everything was perfect. See you next year everyone"

The crew makes the vacation!

"I rarely do advance planning for vacations, but this company is very popular so I booked our sailing trip approximately 18 months in advance. From reading other reviews and talking to other crews once I was in Greece, it seems like this company has the best reputation for skippers, hostesses, and staff and I agree with that assessment after spending a week with Dimitri and Morphi. Both were very professional, kind, and fun, quickly bonding with our group of 8 and enjoying the week with us. in addition to their wonderful demeanor, Dimitri seemed to know every person at every port which paid dividends, often getting us a berth despite the most popular areas being "full." For our hostess, we had requested fresh and local ingredients for meals, and Morphi was a pro at making exquisite dishes that delighted us at every opportunity. Both Dimitri and Morhpi truly care and enjoy their jobs, which isn't always the case in positions like this, and we are happy to call them friends now, even after spending just a week with them. There are a lot of yacht company choices in Greece, from my experience I would say this is one of the best, and encourage you to book them"

Unforgettable Adventure!!

"Captain Dimitris chose great stops on our trip and was safety oriented. He communicated well with our group and with other boats about our trip schedule. Bonus-Dimitris is a DJ and has fantastic taste in music! Morphie spoiled us with her delicious food, fun personality and attention to detail! We were never hungry or without a beverage of choice in our hands. Both Morphie and Dimitris knew the region well and gave us great recommendations. We were in very good hands and will definitely request Dimitris and Morphie when we come back. A top notch crew that made this an unforgettable adventure! Thank you!!!"

"We had an amazing sailing trip in Greece thanks to our captain Dimitros and our hostess. The boat was a great catamaran, and Dimitros was an excellent captain. Fantastic sailing trip on the Saronic gulf and the Cyclades!

"We had a fantastic time sailing with our skipper Dimitris! We were impressed with the customer service provided by the entire staff! It was so reassuring that Ioanna or Eugene answered all of our emails within 24 hours and answered all our questions in preparation of the trip. Alex, who greeted us was super! Everyone was professional and friendly! Our skipper, Demitris was a very skilled sailor and he was warm, friendly and easy going. We loved spending time with him, but he also gave us our space. He took us to amazing spots, which included Hydra, geo-thermal pools on Kythnos, a peacock island (Moni) and Poseidon’s Temple. He made awesome restaurant, food and wine recommendations. We are already talking about our next trip with Demitris and Yachtsailing.gr!"

Amazing Trip for our family of 9.

"We are just 3 days out from completing our sailing trip through the Cyclades and still reveling in what was an outstanding experience. Yacht Sailing was an amazingly responsive company from start to finish, answering all our questions well in advance of our arrival, setting up multiple zoom calls and more. Our skipper Demitris has been sailing the island since the age of 6 and navigated us ahead of a storm, getting us out of Athens and to our first island while other boats headed to lesser destinations. This put us ahead of many other vessels for the entire week. Our hostess, Nefeli, was an amazing chef and brought cheer and humor to our every moment. Each meal was better than the last and she seamlessly provided for us while being magically unobtrusive. We had originally considered just having a skipper, but it are SO happy we chose to have a hostess as well. Our crew steered us to truly amazing restaurants on each island and we had sightseeing and dining experiences we would have never otherwise experienced. THANK YOU!"

Simply perfect!

"The most perfect vacation ever!!! We will be back! Captain Dimitris was kind, fun, and skilled. He found great swimming coves and oh so skillfully parked in the docks/moorings. He offered clear options each day to make plans for the day’s sailing and adventure. He even surprised us with a little tubing adventure on the last day. Wonderful Captain! Our hostess Alex was just incredible! Her food was better than anything we had on land! I am not exaggerating. Just superb! And she is kind and gentle, also! We were not sure we wanted a hostess, but Alex turned out to be one of the very best parts! I think in the long run we actually saved money by having Alex, and she certainly cooked healthier, fresher food than we would have done for ourselves. There are many places on the Royal Flush to hang out (full group or individuals, sun or shade, windy or not), surprisingly spacious, good water pressure in shower, amazing sailing the stunning Cyclades islands. Water SO clear. People friendly and open. I enjoyed bringing a bag of cat treats for all the friendly Cyclades kitties. You really live in your swimsuit, a coverup, and towel. No need to pack a different outfit for each day. Do bring sunscreen (ideally reef-safe) and bug spray (we needed it on Serifos). Water in the first week of June is cool, but we enjoyed it anyway. It’s easy to rinse things out in the sing and clip them outside to dry quickly. They had nice, fluffy towels for us, but I enjoyed my quick dry Turkish towel (even doubled as a blanket on the airplane. While there are many places in the world on our list to visit, this was SO incredible that our friends want to do it again in a few years. And we will definitely book Dimitris and Alex again! It was simply perfect!"

A big "shout-out" to our captain, Dimitri Dalakos, who was so easy-going, fun and attentive to our needs. He provided us with an incredible itinerary of both fun and relaxing activities. Dimitri's suggestions for restaurants were perfect, and he was always able to efficiently arrange our on-shore excursions (taxis to historical sites, 4 wheelers, scooters, hikes, shopping, swimming coves, etc). 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

"Our 50th wedding anniversary was a journey of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories aboard the Royal Flush—a magnificent catamaran that became our floating haven. For seven days, we sailed through the enchanting Greek seas, but it was not just the stunning scenery that made this experience extraordinary; it was the people, the shared moments, and the love that blossomed on board that truly defined this voyage. From the moment we stepped aboard, we were welcomed as if we were family. Captain Panos, with his infectious passion for the sea, effortlessly navigated the glistening waters, always ensuring that every sail was an adventure and every evening brought a new magical view as we anchored in a different port. Elisabeth, meanwhile, took care of all of us with such grace, making every meal a masterpiece and ensuring our time on board was full of comfort and happiness. Her gentle kindness and the delicious meals she prepared made us feel truly pampered. We spent days soaking up the sun on the deck, enjoying gentle swims in the refreshing waters of various bays, and sharing conversations that will forever be etched in our hearts. But the true magic of our journey came from the sense of connection that grew among us—our children and their spouses, the crew, and my beloved Ka. Together, we were no longer just passengers on a voyage; we were family. The pinnacle of this experience was the evening of our anniversary. Inviting our “crew” Elisabeth and Panos to share our celebration dinner with us. The sound of laughter filled the air. It was not just our family of children and spouses gathered to celebrate this remarkable milestone, but our new family—the people who had been with us throughout this special journey. We shared stories, toasted to love, and relished every moment of togetherness. The highlight of the evening, and perhaps the highlight of my life, was the moment I stood to honor my love, Ka, with an original song. The stars above and the gentle sway of the…"

The best way to sail the Greek Islands

"We sailed from Athens on the Royal Flush with Captain Panos and Chef/First Mate Elisavet Memtsa. They took us on a trip of a lifetime - the islands, coves, beaches all beyond gorgeous. The most authentic Greek vacation while sailing on a luxury catamaran. Everyone in each port knows and loves Captain Panos. All doors were opened for us because he was our Captain. We received top notch treatment and were greeted with open arms at all times. Our meals on board were better than any restaurant - Elisavet is a first class chef. Fun people enjoying a memorable experience

"4 couples sailed out of the Alamo's Marina on a 52 foot Catamaran named Royal Flush. We really did not know what to expect. I picked this boat after reading review more than we on Captain Panos. He did not disappointment us along with our great hostess and chef Elizabeth. Panos asked what kind of adventure we where looking to have. He explained about each stop, such as swimming, relaxing and most of all we are party people. Elizabeth would prepare delicious meals each day and explain the preparation and I must say, this girl can cook. The two of them together joined us in the fun most days but this crew is special. Captained arranged fun on different islands , he is a master at this and he loves beautiful people. Thank Panos and Elizabeth for a truly memorable sail. The Yacht was clean and comfortable and the company really cares about its clients. Would highly recommend"

Good to know

How do you plan the itinerary?

We try to build the route around two main principles. The first is the profile of your group: how many hours you would like to sail each day, whether you are travelling with children, whether there are particular islands you definitely want to see, and what you generally enjoy doing - sightseeing, history, local life, swimming, snorkeling or simply spending time on the water. The second is the weather at the time of your arrival. These two things need to work together in order to create a trip that feels pleasant and relaxed rather than adventurous for the wrong reasons. Distance also comes into the equation. A successful week needs to strike a balance between many different things, not just sailing. You want time to enjoy the food, explore the islands, meet the locals, discover some history, read a book, paddleboard, snorkel, swim - or simply do absolutely nothing. All of this needs to find its place within the week. That also means having realistic expectations about how far you plan to go. We don't consider sailing endlessly just to reach another island part of the fun. Spending more hours at sea simply to tick destinations off a list can easily take away from everything else the trip has to offer. Last but not least, the yacht itself plays a role. A longer hull can generally achieve higher cruising speeds and cover distances more efficiently. Larger catamarans also place you higher above the waterline, offer more space and comfort, and can generally handle more demanding sea conditions with greater ease. So, beyond the accommodation and layout, the yacht you choose can also influence what makes sense for your itinerary. All in all, there are several things to consider when planning the week. Your group sets the priorities, your yacht helps define what is comfortable and realistic, and the weather always has the final say.

Is the itinerary fixed, or can we customize our route?

All our trips are fully customizable. There is no fixed itinerary. The final route is shaped together with you, based on your preferences (how many hours you wish to sail per day, whether you prefer sightseeing or relaxation, interest in hiking, swimming, local cuisine, etc.) and - most importantly - the weather conditions at the time of your trip. We do not pre-impose routes, nor do we force sailing long distances if conditions are unpleasant. The captain adjusts the plan daily to ensure the experience remains relaxed, safe, and enjoyable. You may also change plans during the trip and stay longer at places you enjoy.

What is included in the charter price, and what should we budget for separately?

In order to plan an accurate budget, you should consider the following costs in addition to the yacht price with crew. The figures below are based on averages we have seen from similar groups on previous charters and are intended as a realistic guide rather than fixed costs. Actual expenses will vary depending on your yacht, itinerary, preferences and the time of year you travel. * Fuel: Fuel consumption depends on the yacht, cruising distance, weather conditions and time of year. As a general guide, expect approximately 300-1000 liters, with a total cost in the region of €500-€1,900 for the week. You will receive the yacht with a full tank and refill it upon return. * End cleaning: €300, covering the preparation of the yacht, including cleaning, one set of bed linen, towels and tea towels, as well as the dinghy, outboard engine and gas bottles. * Port fees: Generally minimal, typically around €20-€50 per night, depending on the port or marina. * Crew provisioning: Approximately €25-€30 per crew member, per day for the crew's meals. * Guest provisioning: This depends entirely on your preferences and the food, beverages and alcohol you would like onboard. Your cook will organize the shopping according to your preferences so everything is ready for your arrival. All costs shown are for the entire group, not per person. Adding an additional guest after booking, provided the yacht's layout and permitted capacity allow it, does not change the weekly yacht price.

What can we expect from meals onboard?

Meals are an important part of life onboard and are based around fresh, Greek and Mediterranean flavors, adapted to your group's preferences and dietary requirements. With our standard two-person crew setup (Captain and Cook/Host), the natural rhythm is breakfast followed by a substantial lunch or late lunch onboard, while evenings are a wonderful opportunity to step ashore and discover local restaurants and tavernas. One or two dinners onboard can also be arranged. On yachts operating with a three-person crew, the dining experience can be more extensive.

What is a typical day onboard like?

There really is no fixed schedule - and that is part of the experience. You may wake up in a quiet bay, have breakfast onboard and sail in the morning before stopping somewhere beautiful for swimming, paddleboarding or snorkeling. Lunch is often enjoyed onboard, followed by another short sail or time at anchor before arriving at an island later in the day. Evenings can be spent exploring ashore, having dinner in a local restaurant or simply enjoying the yacht. Some days involve more sailing, others almost none. The rhythm develops naturally around the weather, the route and what your group feels like doing.

Is a yacht charter suitable for families or guests who are concerned about seasickness?

Absolutely, but choosing the right itinerary is important. Catamarans provide generous space and a stable platform at anchor, although any yacht will move when sailing in open water. For families, younger children or guests who are particularly sensitive to motion, the Saronic Gulf is often an excellent choice because distances are shorter and the waters are generally more protected. Your captain can also adapt the route according to the conditions and your group. Children are welcome onboard and remain under their parents' supervision throughout the charter. Weather is always monitored closely, and itineraries are adapted to avoid unpleasant conditions. The objective is comfort and enjoyment, not endurance sailing.

How do embarkation and disembarkation work?

Our charters operate on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis. On embarkation Saturday, yachts are typically ready from around 14:00 at our base in Alimos Marina, Athens. You are welcome to arrive at that time, board the yacht, and settle into your cabins. Your cook will have already arranged and purchased everything required for your meals, based on the preferences you have shared with us in advance. Everything will be onboard and ready for your arrival, so there is nothing else you need to organize. Once onboard: * The captain will welcome you and introduce the yacht. * A full safety briefing will take place. * You will discuss your preferences and possible routes based on the weather forecast. After these formalities, the trip begins immediately. Depending on your plans and weather conditions, you will usually sail for a few hours and enjoy your first swim or anchorage that very same day. On disembarkation, the yacht returns to the marina on Friday evening. You overnight onboard, and disembarkation takes place by 09:00 on Saturday morning. This timing allows the crew to properly clean, service and prepare the yacht for the next guests according to our standards.

Can we visit Santorini during a one-week charter from Athens?

Santorini is not realistically suited to a one-week charter from Athens. The distance requires more than long hours at sea and will quickly turn a sailing holiday into a trip focused simply on reaching one destination. This is not the nature of our trips. If Santorini is important to you, we strongly recommend spending two nights there before or after your charter. Flights from Athens take around 30-45 minutes and can often be found in the region of €80-€120, depending on dates and availability. And there is another reason we recommend experiencing Santorini this way: the real magic of Santorini is on the island, not around it. Its dramatic cliffs, villages, caldera views and sunsets are what make it exceptional. The surrounding waters are very deep, with steep and rocky coastlines, so it offers a very different experience from the bays, beaches and swimming stops that make a week by yacht so special. Our advice is simple: Santorini is absolutely worth visiting - but visit it by plane, and save your sailing week for the islands best experienced from the water. If you are chartering for two weeks, the picture changes completely. Santorini can then become part of a broader Cyclades itinerary without forcing the entire trip to revolve around getting there.

Can we visit Mykonos, Naxos and other Cycladic islands in one week?

Some islands can be combined within a week; others cannot - at least not without sacrificing comfort. Mykonos and Paros are feasible from Athens within a week under favorable conditions. Santorini, Patmos, Anafi, and other southern or eastern islands are located over 180 nautical miles away and are not realistically reachable within a one-week sailing vacation without excessive daily sailing hours. For these distant islands, we strongly recommend visiting them by ferry or plane before or after your sailing trip. The true experience of a sailing vacation lies in balance, not in covering maximum miles.

What happens if the weather is bad? Will the trip be canceled?

Trips are weather-dependent, but this does not mean they are canceled. If strong winds or unfavorable conditions arise, the itinerary is adjusted to more protected areas. To date, we have not lost a single trip due to weather. Greece offers many alternative routes that remain beautiful and enjoyable even when conditions in one region are not ideal. Flexibility is essential and a key for a successful trip along with an elevated experience.

Contact us about this date

This date is currently on hold for another guest. We'll only email you if it opens up or once we have an update for you - a one-off reply, not a mailing list. It doesn't happen often, but we wanted you to know before you send this.

Request to book

This is a request, not a confirmed booking - a real advisor will personally check availability and reach out to arrange the deposit and next steps. No payment is taken now.
